Specialized approach

The ACT Crucible

Our relationships with others impact our well-being. Too often, we get lost in stories about others or get bogged down by our own distress.

In those states of regression, we may show up in ways that do not align with our values. Our behavior becomes emotion-dependent or driven by chasing pleasant sensations and avoiding discomfort.

Over time, in working with individuals and couples, I’ve found that breaking free from the grips of suffering opens the door to a kind of joy and connection you may not have experienced before and expands what feels possible in your life.

With that intention, I have decided to create my own therapeutic method inspired by the work of David Schnarch and Steve Hayes. The ACT Crucible is a combination of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Crucible Therapy. It integrates individual and couples therapy to create extraordinary relationships.

This approach draws from advances in psychotherapy, linguistics, and brain science to form a method that is useful for both individuals and couples.
